Visiting prisoners can have a positive impact on both the prisoner and the visitor. Studies have shown that visitation is linked to better mental health, including reduced depressive symptoms — an important intervention for the isolated, stressful experience of incarceration. Families who visit are a “prime treatment agent” for incarcerated people. Since studies point to lower recidivism rates for prisoners who stay connected to supportive family members, positive prison visits end up benefiting everyone: prisoners, families, and the community.
In some cases, people may not be able to see their loved ones in person due to distance or other reasons. However, there are other ways to stay connected such as phone calls or video calls but We visit them and preach the gospel to them. We also take bibles, sandals and some personal items for them and food such as milk and bread.
